Amber underwater!

Words of Wisdom: If your 10 or 11-year-old is begging to get certified and is ready for the responsibility, go for it. They make GREAT divers. If, however, this is your idea and not theirs, it is better to hold off until they are really ready and raring to go.

JUNIOR DIVERS

It is wonderful to see these 10 and 11-year-olds already into diving. However, they do present some logistical challenges on a dive boat. Their certification cards clearly state that they must stay above 40 feet AND dive with a professional (divemaster or above rating) or a very experienced parent. With these restrictions, and the need to keep a close eye on our young charges, we simply cannot put them with a regular group. It is not fair to restrict our other divers to the limitations of the youngsters.

We have developed the following options for your family’s diving pleasure:

We will provide a private guide for your child and members of your family who chose to dive within the junior parameters. This way your child may dive both dives. Additional cost for a private guide is $199 plus applicable taxes.

OR

Your child and whoever chooses to dive with him/her may do a 1-tank dive with one of our skilled professionals while the rest of the divers are enjoying their surface interval for regular charter price. It is our experience that a 1-tank dive is plenty for a lot of the youngsters; they’re perfectly happy spending the rest of the time snorkeling, jumping off the boat, or often napping.
